Our dental Services
Dr. Ben Sutter is an expert in preventive, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry, with extensive education and experience in everything from dental implantation to laser surgery to teeth whitening. As your dentist in Eugene, he offers a comprehensive array of dental treatments and services in a friendly, comfortable environment. Our patients -- like you -- are always our top priority, and we want you to rest assured knowing that you’re in capable hands.
By encouraging you to come in twice a year for general checkups and hygiene -- as well as treating gum disease, screening for oral cancer, and helping you avoid TMJ pain -- our doctors employ a truly holistic approach to dentistry. It’s an approach that considers your overall wellbeing when making any and all treatment decisions.
While the health of your teeth and gums is always of the utmost importance, we also want you to show off an enviable smile you can be proud of Dr. Sutter is also highly trained and experienced in cosmetic dentistry.
With that in mind, our comprehensive array of dental services includes:
General and Preventive Dentistry
We begin all treatment plans with a strong foundation on prevention. With a checkup and cleaning every six months, we can help you avoid cavities and gum disease -- and also catch them early when they do get the chance to develop. Prompt detection is the key to the conservative and successful treatment of all oral health hazards.
We also provide custom-fitted mouthguards for athletes of all ages. Contact sports (and even ones that aren’t as heavy hitting) put your teeth at a great risk of injury. A mouthguard is a small investment that provides significant protection for any athlete.
If you suffer from a clicking, popping jaw or frequent headaches, Dr. Sutter will also evaluate the alignment of your bite and TMJ to determine whether or not you need TMJ therapy.
Most people will experience tooth decay or injury at some point in their lives. We’ll work hard to help you avoid these and tooth loss with regular prevention and general dentistry, but if something does go wrong with the health of your smile, our services in restorative dentistry come to the rescue. Non-metal/mercury tooth-colored fillings and crowns restore tooth decay. Bridges, dentures and partials, and dental implants replace missing teeth. More significant damage -- like that sustained from facial trauma or congenital diseases -- can be repaired with a full-mouth reconstruction from Dr. Sutter.
Once your smile is as healthy as can be, we look forward to discussing your options in cosmetic dentistry. There’s real power in a beautiful smile, and Dr. Sutter can help you claim yours with services like Zoom2® teeth whitening. This treatment breaks through even the toughest stains to reveal teeth up to 8 shades brighter.
For more significant cosmetic issues, porcelain veneers cover up imperfections to remake the size, shape, and overall appearance of the teeth that show when you smile. Dr. Sutter offers traditional veneers and minimal-prep veneers.
Dental implants offer a whole-tooth replacement for any number of missing teeth. With a titanium post that takes the place of your tooth’s root, a crown, bridge, or denture can be stabilized securely in your jaw. Unlike other options in tooth replacement, dental implants promote better oral and overall health and can also be expected to last a lifetime with proper maintenance.
Gum disease takes a toll on your overall health. It’s been linked to heart trouble, high blood glucose levels, and other serious health concerns -- and unfortunately, most patients have the gum condition to some extent. Visiting our office for routine checkups and cleanings will help you enjoy better periodontal health, but if an infection does develop in your gums, we’ll provide expert periodontal therapy to help.
Dr. Sutter uses microscope-enhanced testing to better identify harmful bacteria. If that which causes periodontal disease is present, then he’ll use the CO2 laser to treat it in an extremely precise and minimally-invasive manner. Once the bacteria is eradicated, we’ll use the powerful microscope to ensure it doesn’t return.
